University of Wisconsin-Madison Chooses CampusONE For Campus-Wide Card System

NAPA, CA, May 26, 2010 – University of Wisconsin-Madison has chosen the CampusONE One Card Suite from NuVision Networks as an upgrade and replacement for its existing one card system. UW Madison will Go Live in July to provide its 42,000+ students with the latest in card-based laundry, vending, privilege management, on and off campus purchasing and more.The University will be utilizing IBM SurePOS 500 point of sale terminals for its dining services and the new Tempest Touchscreen card readers for privilege control and point of sale.

NuVision Networks is also providing UW Madison with custom programming solutions that will be unique to UW Madison’s operation. A few examples of custom dining services programming include:

  • setting up rotating menus that automatically select the correct menu for the correct day based upon a menu cycle
  • allowing two cashiers in the same drawer forcing them to swipe in before each sale
  • a special “Drop Through” function that will allow the operator to check if the transaction should be charging tax based upon the cardholder type.

UW Madison joins a list of other schools that have recently converted their systems to CampusONE including Franklin & Marshall College, Augustana College, Bennett College for Women, State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota, Elizabeth City State University, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and State Fair Community College among others.
